Oladipo Olamide Emmanuel best known professionally as Chinko Ekun was born born 13 September 1993, in Ikeja, Lagos State, Nigeria. He is the second child in the family of three children. He is a native of Ikare, Ondo State, Nigeria.

Chinko Ekun attended Blessing Nursery and Primary School, Oshodi, Lagos State, where he obtained his First School Leaving Certificate. He attended Baptist Model High School, Ijegun, Lagos State for his secondary education, and obtained his West African Senior School Certificate.

After Completing his secondary school education in Lagos, He proceeded to Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile Ife, Osun State Nigeria. where he graduated with a degree in Law. He did his National Youth Service Corps in Lagos State.

Chinko Ekun is an indigenous rapper. His style of music is a blend of Yoruba flavour with hip hop. His passion for music started when he was 7 years old. Chinko Ekun started doing music while he was in secondary school but he was still very muck unknown. He began his music career properly in 2011.

Ekun was his first official track. After making some waves, he caught the attention of Olamide. After listening to one of his songs, Olamide Badoo signed him to his YBNL Nation label.
