Delaney Brennan, a Texas Christian University fashion student, has made headlines after three years as she faces criminal charges following the 2019 death of Jack Elliot, a Texas Christian University freshman.
During the incident, all the students present on the boat were teenagers. They were around the age of 19.
Alongside Brennan, four other students are facing criminal charges after it was disclosed that they had lied about the incident in the boat, which took Elliot’s life. Brennan and Carson Neel, who was leading the boat trip, face the felony charges and could face ten years of imprisonment with a $10,000 fine.
The other three students, Elle Weber, Joshua Evans, and Anthony Salazar, are facing misdemeanor charges for their roles in the incident.
There were new revelations related to the incident, which led to arresting of the accused in the case.
Who Is Delaney Brennan? TCU Jack Elliott Boating Accident Or Murder
Elliot’s body was found ten days after he went overboard. After a wrongful death lawsuit filed by Elliot’s parents, it was revealed that Delaney Brennan had allegedly pushed him off the boat while they were kissing.
A witness has claimed that Elliot fell from the boat’s bow after Brennan had pushed him while flirting; she gave him a playful shove that left him overboard before hitting a propeller and drowning in the water.
One of the students’ affidavits revealed that the group didn’t search for Elliot for more than five minutes before the group went back to the shore. As per the reports, the group had bought alcohol but later dumped it in the lake before they called the authority.
The group decided to give the authorities a false statement to cover up the truth. Jack’s family filed a wrongful death lawsuit to find out the answers from others who were present in the boat when he fell off.
Elle Weber saw Jack and Delaney together in her statement that she saw Brennan playfully shove Jack. Another person on the boat stated in the affidavit that Delaney kept saying that “He fell. I didn’t mean to push him”.
Two months after the incident, Texas Parks and Wildlife game warden Ben Echelson released a report overview of the tragic accident. He stated that Brennan pushed Elliot off from the front of the boat, which was driven by Elle Weber and supervised by Carson Neel.
Is Delaney Brennan Arrested?
Previously the lawsuit was settled privately, but in 2021, the students were again involved in the case. The Travis County grand jury decided that the five students who were involved in the case would undergo a pre-trial.
Brennan was charged with felony tampering with the evidence in the deletion of the cellphone video; she will appear on August 17 for pre-trial in Travis County Criminal Court.
Not only Brennan but Carson Neel was also charged with a felony with the evidence as he was the one who dumped the alcohol in the lake. He appeared for a pre-trial on August 2.
Elle Weber was charged with giving false information to the authorities. She will appear on August 16 for her pre-trial. Joshua Evans was indicted with a misdemeanor of furnishing alcohol to a minor. He appeared in court on August 7.

Hope that Jack Elliot and his parents get justice for his tragic death.
