Wynonna Judd was born Christina Claire Ciminella on May 30, 1964 in Ashland, Kentucky to Naomi Judd. When she was 4, She moved with mother and her half-sister to Los Angeles in 1968. In 1976, Wynonna and her mother Naomi were living in Kentucky, where Wynonna was gaining inspiration from the country music her mother always had playing, and learned to play guitar after getting one for Christmas.

After developing love and interest for music, She started up her professional career with a musical group called “The Judd” a duo group which consist mother and a daughter, before this time she had to move to Nashville, Tennessee in 1979.

After the start of her professional career with her mother, Between 1983 and 1991, The Judds charted 23 hit singles on the Billboard Hot Country Singles charts, including 14 #1. Together they also recorded eight studio albums, one Christmas album and two Greatest Hits compilations. Throughout their six-year career, The Judds sold over 20 million records worldwide and won over 60 industry awards, which includes five Grammy Nominations, nine County Music Association awards, and eight Billboard Music Awards. For a while, they were the biggest-selling duo in country music and remained so until in the ’90s.

Her mother Naomi was forced into an early retirement due to chronic bout of hepatitis C, following a 1991 farewell tour.
