In an interview, Lauren Kay Sims said, “As a blogger, I realize that I expose myself to criticism by posting personal information online. I advise a lot of girls who are considering blogging that you ‘must have thick skin’ or at least make an effort to get there. I think my skin has grown thicker over the past three and a half years of blogging.

Additionally, she said, “I still remember the initial comments I received, which included statements like, ‘You look too skinny’ or ‘We don’t want to promote anorexia to our children. “Cruel things people would say. Since then, I’ve come a long way and, more importantly, learned to ignore these foolish remarks from cowards hiding behind their computers.”
