For days now many of you must have seen or hear the rumour trending among students in Uniben, that ASUU Uniben chapter is going on a warning strike on Wednesday.
This has left numerous questions Among the students, some students concluded that the s not going to be class till Further notice. Others concluded that there will be no class till the proposal Uniben break which is scheduled between February to April 2020.
Although it’s common to hear fake news and rumor in school/ students environment, we have been trying to get the the appropriate information about the rumour.
However, according to the research by the360report team, we have been able to get some facts about the rumour, the facts is that the National ASUU chairman has not in any way declared a Nationwide industrial action (Strike).
According punch newspaper report, the ASUU National Chairman Mr Biodun Ogunyemi, while reacting to the federal government instructions, which states that “no members of the union should be paid January salaries following thir refusal to register for IPPIS”.
In reaction to this he said “effect from January 31st, if the federal Fovernment refuse to pay any of our members salaries, then we will invoke our action of “no payment no work” across the nation.
for now please disregard any rumour of strike.
