Born November, 30th, 1974, Samson Uche Mogekwu professionally known by his stage name as Samsong is Nigerian gospel singer, songwriter and entertainer. He grew up in Nigeria, Upon the success of his West African Senior School Certificate Exams, He proceeded to Ambrose Ali University Ekpom, Edo State Nigeria, Where he graduated with a degree in accounting in 1991 before he finally choose a career in Music.
Samsong Musical Career
Samsong developed interest and passion for singing at a very tender age, He was a member of children choir in his local church while he was growing up as a child. He started his musical journey during his secondary school days, He had formed a lot of musical group till he got notice and signed to Ivory Music Label, where he and group released their debut album in 1996 titled “Best of Life”.
However the group got dissolved and he went solo, Later on in 2002 he released his studio album titled “Count Your Blessings”. His first album was a success, garnering massive airplay, and won him The Psalmist Award that same year.
His second album was released in 2004, titled “Still Counting”. Samsong had become a bona fide celebrity and gospel star at this point, having songs and video in rotation radio and TV, and receiving top billing in concerts.
